Amanda's side twist easel card project using the Quilted Card Companions Paper

I hope you like our New Quilted Card Companions Paper πŸ’š

Side Twist Easel Card Project

If you’re looking for a fun fold that looks impressive but is still really enjoyable to make, this Side Twist Easel Card is a perfect choice! I’ve used the brand new Quilted Card Companions Paper for this project, and it adds so much texture and interest all by itself—meaning you can create a card that feels special without needing loads of extra embellishments.

This style of card is great for using up bits from your stash, playing with layers, and having a little fun with dies and embellishments. It also folds flat for posting but pops up beautifully for display—always a winner!

Supplies Used:

  • New Quilted Card Companions Paper – https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/WxYSn (more colours coming soon)
  • 5x5 pre-scored white card blank
  • Gold mirror card, white card, and green card for matting and layering
  • Deckle edge scissors (to create the stopper topper)
  • Happy Birthday sentiment – https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/UrJiv
  • These can be used as black and white digi sentiment stamps and printed on a regular printer. I printed mine on my laser printer and then foiled it using my Minc Foiling Machine for a bit of extra sparkle
  • A selection of circle dies (I used a mix of straight edge and stitched edge circles)
  • Some daisy die cuts and die-cut foliage to finish off the card

Side Twist Easel Card Sketch Template

If you’ve never made a side twist easel card before—or if you’d just like a handy reference reminder to keep—i have a template sketch to guide you through the fold.

It’s also perfect if you’re building up a little inspiration binder filled with your favourite card folds and layouts.

I’ll be sharing more of these sketch-style templates over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for those too! You can find the download in the shop here: https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/aWQeX

Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Although I hung up the snips from day-to-day shop life quite a while ago, my love for flowers and plants has never gone away. I still enjoy dipping back into floristry now and again—whether that’s creating special gifts, working on events, or the occasional wedding. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way πŸ’› Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now.
