https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/8UF1X

I’m so excited to share the newest download to Opulence By Design Crafts — the Snowy Hills Background Design Digital Download – Fence With Trees!

You can find it on the website here: https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/8UF1X

This one is a bit different from my usual style, and I absolutely loved creating it 💙

What’s Included:

✔️ 1 x A4 Backing Paper / Background Print

✔️ Both PDF and JPG files — perfect for easy printing and wonderfully compatible with digital cutting machines.

Although the sheet is A4, you can easily resize it using your printer settings:

🖨️ Print 2 per page for A5 cards

🖨️ Print 4 per page to create A6 toppers

Super versatile for all your winter crafting needs!

This design isn’t strictly Christmas… it’s more of a serene winter scene, making it perfect for so many projects. You could make this into a Winter Happy Birthday Card or Anniversary or a Thinking of you card.

It works beautifully as a backdrop for snowmen, critters, and your favourite winter die-cuts. I can already picture my deer die-cuts nestled in front of it with a sprinkle of faux snow and sparkle!

It’s also a lovely choice for a gentle, thoughtful “Thinking of You at Christmastime” card.

I truly hope you enjoy using this design as much as I enjoyed creating it.

And I would love to see what you make!

here are some of the sample cards.. i wanted to share some of my secret finds - i always post what tape pens, glue, printer paper and mirror card i use (you can find this on most of my blog posts) - today i wanted to take the time to share the good stuff. I have had so many lovely comments on my cards across the facebook groups but when someone asks in the comments how it was made it is simply too tricky/ lengthy to answer in a comment.

I hope you like all of the goodies and recent finds i have been using.

Really quick and simple card idea - perfect for batch making or making sets to gift or sell

A6 Simple Flat card - perfect for posting

I resized and printed to fit the card

The Merry Christmas sentiment is stamped using one of my trusty wood block stamps and Momento Tuxedo black ink pad. I often get asked what black ink i use for my stamps so i thought i would pop the link on for you - https://amzn.to/49FLXdB

I’ve been trying to dedicate more time to my Cameo4 cutting machine lately. I absolutely love using it, but with my limited craft-table space, it doesn’t have a permanent home, so it often gets tucked away. Still, every time I pull it out, I’m reminded of how much it can do — the precision cuts, the ability to scan designs with the Pixscan mat, and how it opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities. Little by little, I’m finding ways to work it into more projects, because the results are always worth the extra effort!

I have been batch cutting some swirls and flourishes, leaves and flowers to use in future projects - cutting them in mirror card, coloured card and even just white card so i can paint them -sometimes i don't get good results cutting glitter card so I have been using some new metallic paint, glitter paint, chrome markers and gilding wax to add some lustre and sparkle. I will pop the paint links further down the post as there are a few so i will keep them altogether. As a florist i always have silk leaves, bits of festive "picks" and berries lying around but not necessarily the colour i want to use so i use these mediums to colour them.

If you are curious about the Cameo and would like to see what it can do you can find it here on amazon - https://amzn.to/4psGBqt

There are loads of video tutorials from Silhouette on youtube that simplify the whole process and show you how to use it.

For the card above the poinsettia wasn't made by me it is a bought one - i picked up a bunch of these at a local garden centre (bargain find!), i dismantled the layers and rebuilt it on the card adding some of my silver painted beads in the centre. I also bought a festive pick which had the polystyrene silver balls and loopy foliage on shown in the card above. Pop along to your local florist or garden centre and check out the festive foliage so see what you can use on your cards

The foliage sprigs, snowflakes and flourishes were cut using the cameo as was the Merry Christmas Sentiment.

The sentiment is double layered with the top layer being slightly smaller to create a shadow effect. The smaller layer was painted in the silver

you can find the festive frosted berries from the above card here: https://amzn.to/3Kqwdke

The blue embossed card was cut to make a frame to frame the design. I designed the script paper for this one it has come in quite useful so i will pop it in the shop when i get a moment.

The flower on the above card again is a silk one bought in a bunch from the garden centre, i dismantled the layers and rebuilt in on my card and added some gold beads to the centre

I’m really loving repurposing bits and scraps of card and light cardboard to create my own metallic and glittery embellishments for my cards. It’s a bit time-consuming, but incredibly enjoyable — and it’s saved me a small fortune! Some of those festive embellishment packs can be quite pricey, and all I’ve spent so far is on the paints, waxes, and pens listed below. These really bring your foliage and lead dies to life with a lovely elegant metallic or glittery affect.

The best part is that these supplies will last ages, so I’m planning to batch-make more this weekend when I have a little extra time and get my Cameo out. Don’t forget to check what paints and embossing powders you already have in your stash — you’ll be amazed at what you can create with just some cardboard, card scraps, and a little paint! They will look fab on wrapped presents, gift bags and gift tags
