Get Creative This Christmas with My New Snow Globe Cards! ❄️✨

I’m so excited to share my latest crafty obsession: Snow Globe Cards! I recently got my hands on some of these adorable little domes, and I have to say—I’m completely in love. They’re such a quirky, fun alternative to traditional shaker cards, and they make absolutely fab Christmas cards.

I couldn’t resist sending a few to Laura to have a play with, and she loves them too! It’s always such a joy to see someone else’s creativity come alive with new tools.

To make these cards even more special, I’ve designed some topper sheets that can be used behind the domes. These sheets feature cute scenes perfect for winter and Christmas themes. You can fill the globes with fake snow, glitter, sequins, or any sparkly bits you love—basically, whatever bling makes you happy. ✨

If you love making fancy boxed cards to give to friends or family you will love these!! They will also make something really special to have on your table at craft fairs.

A little tip: they can be a bit fiddly at first, but don’t worry! After making your first one, it gets so much easier and genuinely addictive. One thing to keep in mind is to make sure you get a good glue seal around the dome—you don’t want your sparkly little bits escaping!

I can’t wait to see what everyone creates with these—Snow Globe Cards are perfect for getting into the festive spirit and adding a little interactive fun to your Christmas cards. If you’re looking for a new, sparkly project to try this season, these are an absolute must!

How to Use Cardmaking Domes

Materials you’ll need:

  • Cardmaking dome (globe)

  • Card base

  • Topper sheet or background scene

  • Glitter, sequins, fake snow, or other small embellishments to fill your globe / dome

  • Glue (strong, clear-drying recommended)

  • Die-cut frames (optional) to hide the mechanics of how it is attached to the card or you can cover with fibre yarn/ ribbon etc...

Instructions: How to Make a Snow Globe Card

Step 1: Prepare your card base

Make sure the front of your card is clean and flat.

Step 2: Choose your scene

Select a topper sheet or background image to place behind the dome. Cut it slightly larger than the dome area (you can trim the excess later).

Step 3: Add your sparkle

Turn your dome upside down and fill it with your choice of glitter, sequins, or fake snow. Don’t overfill—leave plenty of space so your items can move around and your background is still visible.

Step 4: Attach the dome to your background

Still keeping the dome upside down, apply a good layer of strong glue around the edge. Press firmly onto the background in your desired position. Make sure the seal is tight to prevent your sparkly bits from escaping.

Step 5: Let it dry

Set aside and allow the glue to dry completely.

Step 6: Trim the background

Once dried, trim the edges of your background as close to the rim of the dome as possible.

Step 7: Attach the dome to your card base

Carefully glue your prepared dome and background onto your card base.

Step 8: Add frames (optional)

Place a die-cut frame around the dome to hide the edges and give your card a polished, finished look.

Stay crafty and let the snow (and glitter) fly!

April 28, 2026 Pretty Carnations Card So Many Questions… Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! 💙🍃 I recently shared a card over on Facebook, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received! Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way 💛 Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now.
