Here is the video of me making this card - this is a silent video - just click the play button in the middle of the picture (the red play button)

The basic instructions are below the video

If you would prefer to watch this on youtube you can find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_NXrhn_b5U

If you would like to check out my other videos you can find them here: https://www.youtube.com/@opulencebydesign

I am using a A4 sheet of 300gsm super smooth card

Using my scoreboard i score the card into 4 equal panels

The art deco paper is trimmed to 6cm wide panels before matting and layering onto some gold mirror card

The multi-front panel can be any size or shape you like - i just used up the spare paper i had left from the art deco paper. The front panel.

The card below i used a square small pre scored card to bridge the concertina card

If you would like to check out the kit for the card above which features all of the papers including the fussy cut flowers you can find that here: https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/QzmiB

About fancy fold cards

I've been making fancy fold cards for many years now, and it’s still one of my favourite things to do. Over time, I’ve picked up so much from the wonderful guests and suppliers on Create and Craft, each sharing their own tips and tricks that have really stuck with me from the early days of templates with the amazing Wendy and Carol and Sara's boards that made everything so much easier.

One thing I’ve learned is that while the names of the folds change all the time, the principles behind them stay the same. And to be honest—I don’t worry too much about measurements anymore. It can get way too complicated, especially when you’re switching between centimetres, millimetres, and inches, depending on where you are in the world. I teach classes in different countries, so now I just check whether someone’s working with A4 or letter size card. That keeps it quick, simple, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

I’m not being secretive when I don’t give exact measurements! It’s really just like baking: when you’ve been making the same recipe for years, you stop measuring every ingredient to the gram—you just know how it should feel. Cardmaking is the same for me. After a while, it becomes second nature. It’s more about proportions than numbers. The creative brain kicks in, and the autopilot takes over!

I’d really love to help demystify this for people—truly. But here’s where I could use your help. I’m more than happy to share what I know, and I love making tutorials, but I’m not allowed to share YouTube links in most of the cardmaking groups since I run a small business. So, if you enjoy the video and want to see more, it would mean the world if you could tell others it's from Opulence by Design CraftsI love sharing my cards in the groups as ultimately that's what its all about - sharing ideas. It sometimes breaks my heart though, as some people ask if there are instructions or a video for the card and i am not allowed to say or post my bog links or video links.

This project—designing the paper, prepping the card, taking the photos, filming and editing the video, writing the supply list and blog post—took more than a full day to put together. And honestly? It can be a bit soul-destroying when the video goes live and barely gets seen.

So if you do like it, please consider liking the video, leaving a comment, and sharing it. If you don't have a youtube account to do that you can always share the posts from my facebook page (that would be amazing!!) It makes such a huge difference and helps me keep creating and sharing what I love.

Thank you so much for being here on this journey with me xo

Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! April 28, 2026 Pretty Carnations Card So Many Questions… Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! 💙🍃 I recently shared a card over on Facebook, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received! Paper Flowers Made Beautiful: Techniques, Tips & Inspiration

Buy This As A Download 🌸 Combining My Two Loves – Flowers & Crafting 🌸 This blog post includes amazon affiliate links - there is no cost to you but it helps support our blog posts and video tutorials. Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Although I hung up the snips from day-to-day shop life quite a while ago, my love for flowers and plants has never gone away. I still enjoy dipping back into floristry now and again—whether that’s creating special gifts, working on events, or the occasional wedding. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way 💛 Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now. Whether they are stamped, die-cut, or printed, there is something...
