Creating with the Apothecary Kit – A Handmade Cardmaking Adventure
There’s something truly magical about getting stuck into a new design kit – and the Apothecary Kit has been an absolute joy to work with even if i say so myself. Inspired by vintage herb bottles, botanical sketches, and that old-world charm of wooden shelves filled with little treasures, this kit has so much creative potential, I simply couldn’t stop at one card!
I had so much fun playing with the artwork to make a variety of handmade cards – each one slightly different in style but tied together by the same earthy, elegant aesthetic. I used ribbons and lace for softness, layered paper die-cut flowers and leaves for dimension. A few gold liquid pearl drops nestled in the flowers added just the right touch of sparkle without overpowering the natural look.
I really had fun making the little bookcase card (the one in the middle - it folds flat but has that bit of extra shape)
One of my favourite details? I even added some dried grasses from the garden! They have been drying the last couple of weeks and i couldn't wait to use some. It’s those little additions that bring a handmade card to life and make it feel so special – like a little keepsake in itself. I will be making some matching boxes for these to complete the look as there are some perfect papers for that in the kit.
