The Best Snips for Fussy Cutting – My Favourite Upgrade Ever!
My New Favourite Snips for Fussy Cutting!
I’ve had so many of you message me after watching my videos asking about the little scissors I use for fussy cutting — and today I finally have an update for you!

(If you would like to see more about the flowers above check out the previous blog post)
After years (and I mean years) of loyal service from my old Martha Stewart scissors, I’ve finally treated myself to a brand new pair of snips… and I’m a little bit in love.
Let me introduce you to my Tim Holtz Mini Snips made by Tonic Studios.
These are so similar in style and feel to my trusty old Martha’s — right down to the spring mechanism that makes them absolutely brilliant if, like me, you have any dexterity or grip issues. The handle design and spring-back action make cutting so much easier on the hands compared to regular scissors. Honestly, I wouldn’t be without this type of scissor for fussy cutting!
My old pair has been with me since 2018 — they’re a bit battered, the plastic’s turned from white to that odd vintage yellow, and more recently the spring has started popping out. So when I saw these Tim Holtz ones pop up (and on offerno less!), I knew it was time to upgrade.
Not only do they feel amazing to use, but they also come with a blade guard, a simple blade lock, and even a spare spring — such a great touch!
⚠️ At the time of writing this (6th May 2025), these snips are on offer — so if you’ve been thinking about getting a pair or are in need of a reliable scissor upgrade, this is a fab time to grab them before the price goes back up.
