A Birthday Card for My Dad — With a Little Help from Spuggie 🐦

A Birthday Card for My Dad — With a Little Help from Spuggie 🐦

A Special Birthday Card for My Dad – Featuring Our Adorable Sparrow!

Today I’m sharing a very special project that’s close to my heart — a card I created just for my Dad’s birthday using my brand new Bird Bath with Sparrow 7"x7" Cardmaking Mini Kit.

This design is extra meaningful because the artwork is inspired by our very own sparrows (fondly known as "Spugs" Spuggie) and the sweet little bird bath we bought just for them. They have brought us so much joy, and I thought it was the perfect image to turn into a card for someone equally special — my Dad!

What’s Included in the Mini Kit:

  • 1 x Happy Birthday Dad Main Card Front Design – Featuring the adorable bird bath and sparrow scene
  • 1 x Bird Bath Design Sheet – A more generic version that’s perfect for layering, the inside of your card, or even to make a second card
  • 1 x Matching Insert – To finish the inside beautifully

How I Made My Card:

I went for a classic 7"x7" card base and printed all the sheets onto A4 card. It’s designed to fit this size perfectly, but you can also easily resize the topper using your printer settings to suit other card sizes.

  • I used the “Happy Birthday Dad” sheet for the front of the card — it's such a sweet and gentle image, ideal for a nature-loving dad.
  • On the inside left, I added the generic bird bath sheet, which continues the theme without the sentiment, keeping it versatile and beautifully cohesive.
  • On the inside right, I popped in the matching insert to complete the look.

Finishing Touches:

I kept things simple with the embellishing — all I added was a touch of Stickles glitter glue to bring some sparkle to the water and a few accents on the bird bath. That was all it needed! The artwork really speaks for itself — it’s so cute (even if I say so myself!).

This card came together so easily, and yet it feels so personal and meaningful. I hope it brings a big smile to my Dad’s face — and if you have someone special who’d appreciate a card like this, you can grab the download too.

April 28, 2026 Pretty Carnations Card So Many Questions… Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! 💙🍃 I recently shared a card over on Facebook, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received! Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Although I hung up the snips from day-to-day shop life quite a while ago, my love for flowers and plants has never gone away. I still enjoy dipping back into floristry now and again—whether that’s creating special gifts, working on events, or the occasional wedding. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way 💛 Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now.
