Crafting with Forget-Me-Nots: Step-by-Step Tutorial & Full Supplies List! πŸŒΏπŸ’™

Forget-me-nots are such a beautiful and meaningful flower, symbolising love, remembrance, and cherished memories. While they are often associated with sympathy and honouring loved ones, they also carry a message of hope, happiness, and deep connections. The delicate blue petals and soft tones make them perfect for so many occasions beyond remembrance—whether you're celebrating a birthday, sending love and hugs, or wishing someone luck in a new home. The papers in this collection are adorned with pretty butterflies, adding a sense of lightness and transformation, making them truly versatile. I’ve included a sentiment sheet with a lovely mix of messages—from heartfelt and uplifting quotes like "Believe you can, and you're halfway there" and "Shine bright—the world needs your light!" to classic greetings like Happy Birthday and With Love. With such soft, dreamy colours, this collection is perfect for creating thoughtful and inspiring cards for any occasion! πŸ’™

Basic Method: Portrait Fold Card

1️⃣ Create the Card Base

  • Use sturdy white cardstock (linked above).
  • Fold in half to create an A5 card.
  • Take the front panel and fold it back in half to create a Z-fold shape

2️⃣ Prepare the Layers

  • Print the Forget Me Not Kit papers onto 160gsm super smooth paper.
  • Trim the papers to size using a guillotine or trimmer
  • Adhere the layers to the card base using tape pens.

3️⃣ Create the Focal Topper

  • Cut up one of the kit papers to make a focal topper.
  • Layer onto silver mirror card for extra dimension.

4️⃣ Die-Cut & Shape the Flowers & Leaves

  • Use Spellbinders flower and foliage dies to cut flowers & leaves from various blue papers & white cardstock(coloured with markers/mini ink pads).
  • Shape them using the Spellbinders tool set & tweezers.

5️⃣ Layered Floral Elements

  • Cut out some flowers from the kit papers and layer them up to create a 3D effect.
  • Shape them with the Spellbinders tool set for added dimension.

6️⃣ Assemble with Precision

  • All flowers and leaves were applied to the card using tweezers and hot glue from my glue gun for a secure hold and added dimension.

7️⃣ Finishing Touches

  • Adhere clear dew drop gems in the corners.
  • Add Liquid Pearls to the flower centres for extra detail.
  • Attach the kit sentiment to complete the design.
