Super Easy boxed cake mix, edible flowers and all of the supplies to make it blog project

Happy Tuesday!!

No good at making cakes or don't have a lot of time to make one from scratch?

Check out this little project with my cake mix i get on amazon - please note all links for amazon are my affiliate links.

My Super Easy Make and Bake Confetti cake - with lots of colourful sprinkles inside

My other half has been asking for this cake for ages.. I used to make it in Canada all of the time for him

It is made with a super easy Betty Crocker cake mix and i am so pleased i can get it when i need it from amazon. I have seen it in some of the American shops since i got back but it is more expensive and doesn't usually doesn't have a good use by date on it

How i make it

My other half loves this cake but as he is the only one who eats it i make half of the box (adding 1 large egg and a tbsp of oil (canola / rapeseed or bran oil)- the rest of the recipe i follow off the back of the box.

So you can make 2 cakes out of this box

If you would like to check it out on amazon you can find it using my affiliate link here: https://amzn.to/3WwdgPj

My oven proof glass dish is approx 6"x6" i always grease this thoroughly as it gets very hot - just to avoid sticking and if you are using glass adjust the temperature of the oven accordingly.  Full guidelines on the back of the box.. you can see these on the listing on amazon

Frosting - i make my own butter icing mixing butter with icing sugar - there are some really recipes for this online

If you want a quick and easy alternative Betty Crocker do some lovely frostings and you can get them on amazon at the same time as you get the box mix

Cream cheese frosting - https://amzn.to/3Yvjrpd

Vanilla Butter cream style icing - https://amzn.to/4deNztM

I don't like washing out piping bags when it has a buttery filling as it makes them greasy and a nightmare to wash so i like to use these disposable ones - https://amzn.to/4d8silt

Top tip - i like to tie a clean elastic band round the top of bag to keep the filling in. It really helps when piping.

If you don't have tips check out this fab little set with the piping bags - such great value for anyone starting out - https://amzn.to/3yt70Qa

I used a M1 tip from Wilton you can find it here: https://amzn.to/3YB6udA

I got my wilton tips when i did a Wilton workshop. They are super durable and have lasted for years. We used to sell wilton products at work and i love the quality of their products they are so easy to use. As it is a worldwide brand i could still get wilton products from Michaels when we lived in Canada so i have been able to build my little collection of must having baking tools and accessories.

They have a really good store on amazon that has everything you need for baking and cake decorating. If you would like to take a look you can find it here : https://amzn.to/3LRmz7o

They also have a really good education piece behind their brand if you are looking at getting into baking or if you are already seasoned baker and cake decorator there is always something to learn check out their amazon youtube channel for literally hundreds of videos including recipes!

You can find their channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@wilton/videos

Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day.
