Pom Pom's and Posies cards and tag made with Clara - Blog post with supplies list

Happy Thursday!!

I hope this post finds you well. I love Thursdays they are like the unsung heroes of the week. They don’t get the fanfare of Fridays or the cozy vibes of Sundays. But they deserve our appreciation. So, here’s a virtual high-five to you, my friend! May your Thursday be filled with laughter, kindness, and unexpected moments of crafting joy.

New today - Pom Poms and Posies - Clara Christmas Topper Sheet PDF Digital Download

You can find her here on the website - https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/pPm5x

Supplies List:

  • Tsukineko Gold mini ink pad for distressing the edge of the embossed layer, i also rubbed some over areas of the embossed writing for a bit of shimmer - https://amzn.to/3LPrfLe

  • The 3 dark green leaves are my holly leaves - i cut the spikes off to make them look like bay leaves - https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/aAhoc - a great way to speeeeed cut too!!

  • I made some bead clusters with some seed beads and wires to add a bit of bling

  • The ribbons were a selection from my stash

  • The flower is a fabric handmade flower from my pre-made flower stash - the centre gold part is a stamen die

  • Top left of the topper fancy gem - For fancy gems for flower centres check this set out on amazon - https://amzn.to/4d0C48R it is pricey for the set but they are so lovely to use for your "special cards" Every time i order this set they have a few slightly different ones in. I like it because i have a good mix.

Adhesives:

Tape Pens are from Crafters Companion - https://amzn.to/3WuNefb

Hot glue gun and glue sticks used for all of the leaves, flower and gems - mine is yellow and old but the newer ones are white and now come with a little bag - https://amzn.to/3WivVxS

My personal preference for glue guns for my crafts is small, a good lead length and a completely metal nib

Foam pads to raise up the sentiments - I like the Hunkydory deep ones for this - https://amzn.to/4fq2NgR

they are less fiddly to use than the smaller ones and quicker!

Supplies List

  • Cardblank - I used these DL style or "Tall" cardblanks as i think they are a fab price for the pack size - https://amzn.to/3WOtPWX

  • The embossing folder is an old one from my stash I'm sorry i couldn't find it on amazon to post a link for you but you might be able to do a search for it... it is Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson - it is called Floral Stripes and the product code for it is EF - 033

  • I used the same gold ink pad as i did for the card above (link above)

  • Mirror card (above)

  • The lace is from this mixed pack - https://amzn.to/4dhlcL0 (i love this mixed bundle as you get a good assortment of different widths rather than buying a whole roll of one style)

  • I then cut this out with my loopy edge nesting die from Vaessen

  • FOILING - I then foiled it using my Foiling Machine - If you would like to take a look at the machine you can find it on amazon here: https://amzn.to/4ftMuzK

** If you have a foiling machine or you are interested in foiling i do have some projects that i have done, feel free to reach out and i will send you the details to the video and blog posts) I also have some sentiment sheets and designs on the website that are great for foiling projects :-)

I used the same adhesives for all of the cards

Supplies List

  • The topper and sentiment is from the 'Clara" sheet - link above

  • The beautiful copper mirror card is from the bundle i listed under the 1st card

  • Gems from my stash were used in the corners of the card and tiny ones were used on the topper and sentiment

  • I used the same adhesives as above

Supplies list

  • The topper is from the "Clara" sheet - link above
  • I rounded the corners with my little corner cheapie paper punch - https://amzn.to/4cZZXxs
  • I used my trusty hole punch - https://amzn.to/46wfSBb this punches well onto thicker card and you can do multiple sheets
  • I used my Tim holtz distress ink to give a vintage look to the edge of the tag - it is the "wood stain" from this fab little set - https://amzn.to/3YmupgS it is a perfect set for using in your vintage and shabby chic projects and is a great price for the set when you look at the price individually.
  • Twine - i go through so much of this both in the craft room and in the garden - https://amzn.to/3WKFM0G

Let’s Talk About Those Flowers!

Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! April 28, 2026 Pretty Carnations Card So Many Questions… Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! 💙🍃 I recently shared a card over on Facebook, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received! I’ve had so many lovely comments, questions, and private messages about how I created the flowers — thank you so much 💙 It has got to the point where it’s just physically impossible to reply to everyone individually, so I thought the easiest (and most helpful!) way would be to put everything together here in a blog post for you. Paper Flowers Made Beautiful: Techniques, Tips & Inspiration

Buy This As A Download 🌸 Combining My Two Loves – Flowers & Crafting 🌸 This blog post includes amazon affiliate links - there is no cost to you but it helps support our blog posts and video tutorials. Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Although I hung up the snips from day-to-day shop life quite a while ago, my love for flowers and plants has never gone away. I still enjoy dipping back into floristry now and again—whether that’s creating special gifts, working on events, or the occasional wedding. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way 💛 Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now. Whether they are stamped, die-cut, or printed, there is something...
