Super Simple Christmas Tartan Treasures Card

Super Simple Christmas Tartan Treasures Card

NEW TODAY - Tuesday is Fussy cutting day at ObyD HQ... it's raining outside so what better way to spend a bit of time cutting out with a nice hot cuppa, my headphones on and a bit of bopping to some music

** Disclaimer - complete transparency

Today's new sheet is called Tartan Treasures - it features cute little tartan clad characters.. perfect for your cards, tags, cake toppers, mixed media pieces, baubles, crackers and so many more crafty papercrafting projects.

You can find it on the website here: https://shop.obyd.co.uk/b/0tdib

The sheet was printed out on my favourite 160gsm super smooth paper which i get from amazon, if you would like to take a look you can find it here: https://amzn.to/3zuQE9Q I find this easier to use than the 120gsm as there is less chance of creases on the paper with cutting elements out sometimes when you hold the paper to get it out you can get wrinkles.

The little character was cut out from the sheet.. i cut her out leaving a small white border round the outside

The foliage sprig is from the Tim Holtz foliage set which you can find on amazon here: https://amzn.to/4eNfJgu

The tiny flowers are created with a tiny cherry blossom flower punch. I have had mine for easily 10 years and it is going strong.. i found it on amazon here: https://amzn.to/4buEaMM ** the colour of the punch may vary

The red paper i use to punch the flowers out from can be found on amazon here: https://amzn.to/3Wf1IRp

This is a lovely weight for punching out and die cutting with.

I used my little tonic ball tool and my foam mat to shape the little flowers by pressing firmly in the centre to make a little cup shape

I add little beads of Ranger liquid pearls - I used the bronze you can find them on amazon here: https://amzn.to/3VVE6Qv

Some little gems were added to the corners

Let’s Talk About Those Flowers!

Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! April 28, 2026 Pretty Carnations Card So Many Questions… Let’s Talk About Those Flowers! 💙🍃 I recently shared a card over on Facebook, and I honestly wasn’t expecting the response it received! I’ve had so many lovely comments, questions, and private messages about how I created the flowers — thank you so much 💙 It has got to the point where it’s just physically impossible to reply to everyone individually, so I thought the easiest (and most helpful!) way would be to put everything together here in a blog post for you. Paper Flowers Made Beautiful: Techniques, Tips & Inspiration

Buy This As A Download 🌸 Combining My Two Loves – Flowers & Crafting 🌸 This blog post includes amazon affiliate links - there is no cost to you but it helps support our blog posts and video tutorials. Flowers have always been a huge part of my life. As a fully qualified florist, I spent many years surrounded by beautiful blooms every single day. Although I hung up the snips from day-to-day shop life quite a while ago, my love for flowers and plants has never gone away. I still enjoy dipping back into floristry now and again—whether that’s creating special gifts, working on events, or the occasional wedding. Alongside that, crafting has always been my other passion… so it probably comes as no surprise that the two have blended together over the years in the most wonderful way 💛 Creating flowers out of paper is something I’ve absolutely fallen in love with—and it’s been a passion of mine for over 20 years now. Whether they are stamped, die-cut, or printed, there is something...
