Pressed flowers card blog post with supply list

Happy Wednesday Crafty friends!!
Wildflowers are like nature’s little surprises, popping up unexpectedly in meadows, along roadsides, and even in our own gardens. They’re the rebels of the plant world—unintentionally planted, yet thriving with their unique charm.
Whether it’s the sunny faces of ox-eye daisies or the delicate pink petals of ragged robin or blue cornflowers wildflowers bring a touch of magic to our landscapes. Plus, they’re essential for wildlife, providing nectar for bees and butterflies. So, next time you spot a wildflower, give it a nod—it’s a tiny hero in the grand tapestry of nature!

Pressing flowers is like capturing a fleeting moment of nature’s beauty. 🌸✨
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just someone who appreciates the simple joys of life, pressing flowers can be a delightful and therapeutic activity. Imagine carefully placing delicate petals between the pages of a flower press or even a heavy old book, waiting patiently for them to dry and flatten. It’s like preserving a memory—a snapshot of a sunny day, a romantic stroll, or a special occasion. And when you rediscover those pressed blooms months later, they evoke nostalgia and a sense of connection to the past. So go ahead, gather those blossoms, press them gently, and create your own little botanical time capsules
This hobby isn't just for the summer, you can press all your round!! There are still flowers and leaves in the winter that can be pressed.
Make sure you get the most out of your cut flowers from the flower shop as soon as they start to turn you
can press lots of flowers to then use them in your projects.. and it's not just for cards and albums. You can use them for resin crafts, candles, soap making, cake craft - they have so many uses.
If you are able to cut mdf or you have a store near you that can cut to size i do have a downloadable tutorial for you to make your own flower press at home, and i am working on a little ebook for preserving if you would like to join the list for this you can message me here

** Please remember to seal your flowers if you are using them on cards or any papercraft project. You can seal them and glue them all with mod podge. This is so important as they are very brittle and delicate so to make them stand the test of time... it is always advisable to seal them.
You can find a great little starter bottle of mod podge here: https://amzn.to/4c53r0A
